"Relationships teach you about yourself. In them, issues from childhood may resurface, or problems you had in previous relationships may reappear. Until you process and change what doesn't work, challenges will continue to resurface. You cannot escape things that need to be healed by finding new relationships.
New people cannot heal old wounds that you haven't addressed." - Nedra Glover Tawwab
Empowerment & Healthy Boundaries
Empowerment is about recognizing your worth, rebuilding trust in yourself, and learning to make choices that align with your values.
In therapy, we will work on establishing healthy boundaries, which are essential for protecting your emotional and physical well-being.
Setting boundaries helps you take ownership of your needs, communicate effectively, and build relationships that are grounded in mutual respect. Whether it's learning to say "no" when necessary, advocating for yourself, or recognizing when a relationship is no longer serving you, healthy boundaries are the foundation for healing and growth.
Mindfulness & Emotional Regulation
Mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present moment, allowing you to observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment. This awareness can reduce the emotional intensity of past trauma, helping you stay calm and centered during difficult moments.
In therapy, we’ll focus on developing emotional regulation skills, which allow you to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. By integrating mindfulness and emotional regulation, you’ll learn to respond to life’s challenges with greater ease, compassion, and resilience, strengthening both your sense of self and your relationships with others.
Safety & Trust
In our work together, I will prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore difficult emotions and experiences at your own pace. When trauma occurs, certain parts of us may become wounded or stuck in the past, causing emotional pain or dysfunction. In therapy, I'll help you identify and connect with these parts, particularly those that carry the pain of trauma, and work to heal and integrate them into a more cohesive sense of self. This approach empowers you to take control of your emotional responses, shift destructive patterns, and heal from the effects of trauma in a deeply restorative way.
